March 2015 Update

February was a bit more expensive than I expected. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I ended up spending more than I planned too. I was off for a couple of days of half term, and we ate out a bit, which was tasty (but not free). We were able to catch up with our Nursery fees which was a nice feeling, although it is frustrating having to part with so much money for childcare, just so we can both work. It really does not pay to work, and it is painfully obvious to me now, why people choose to stay at home. But anyway, I am not involved in the general election, so don’t need to start bleating on like I am involved.

Let’s get down to the figures. At the end of February, my debt stood at £15,046.25. After my March payments, my total debt will be £14,991.98. Now, this makes it look like I’ve only repaid £54.27 this month. That’s not true. I bought my wife some work clothes, which temporarily went on the Next Store Card. She ordered many of the same items in different sizes, and about 80% of the order went back, but this is yet to be taken off my debt. So it’s not that bad!

March is a monstrously expensive month. Myself, my wife and my daughter all celebrate birthdays in March, so I will be pleased to get to the end of the month in one piece! It’s also my nephew’s birthday (Dave’s son) so that also adds to the plot. How are you all doing…?
