May 2011 Update

So how was April for you? I’ll tell you how it was for me – long and hard! It has been very tricky sticking to a budget over the last month, as there have been so many ‘events’, including mine and my wife’s first wedding anniversary.  I’m pleased to say that I‘ve come out of the month relatively unscathed, although I did spend a little more than perhaps I would have liked to. I seem to live under the constant delusion that the next month will be a ‘quiet’ one, but life insists on presenting me with opportunities to spend further money. I’ve not been helped by the fact that a particularly friendly gentleman decided to bump into the back of me recently,  which would have been surprising but probably ok (as long as he wasn’t frottering me) had we not both been in separate cars at the time.  It wasn’t my fault, and so it shouldn’t cost me anything, but still, I could have done without the hassle.

Anyway, down to the figures. After April payments, my total debt stood at £24,932.53. Now, after May’s repayments, the total is £24,683.24. That means I’ve paid off another £249.29. A little less than my normal monthly debt reduction, but then I have had an expensive month. All going well, I should be back round to my normal £300 odd reduction next month. Hope all is well with you…
