Top Tip: Free Weightwatchers!

It’s January, which means like me, you’re possibly carrying a few extra pounds then you would like. I’ve used weightwatchers before, and lost over a stone, so I naturally gravitated back to them when I decided that I wanted to re-engage with the battle of the bulge. The good news is, there is serious money to be saved here; you can actually get free weightwatchers; you just need to follow a few simple steps:

Step 1: Cover the £30 Weightwatchers registration fee with a ‘cashback’ site

As long as you do it by Friday 14th January 2011, you can collect £30 back when you sign up to Weightwatchers from cashback websites Quidco or Topcashback. You need to be aware that Quidco will charge a £5 administration fee the first time you earn something. So after you have set up an account with one of these sites, you could earn enough back to pay for the Weightwatchers registration fee.

Warning! Cashback sites pay up because they get paid by Weight Watchers for sending it your custom. Yet as the cashback isn’t direct, and it involves tracking, there is the potential for there to be problems, and while it usually works never consider the cashback 100% guaranteed. If you couldn’t afford to pay the £30, don’t consider doing it.

Step 2: Sign up for the Weightwatchers 3 month plan for free

The canny people at Weightwatchers  are well aware that a lot of people will be launching into new years’ resolutions in January, and for that reason they offer the first three months for  free (the normal cost is £10.95 a month). To achieve the saving, once you’ve clicked through to Weightwatchers  from the cashback site , select the three month plan; it should be accompanied  by the line: ‘Sign up for FREE when you buy our 3 month plan, Save £32.95.’

Step 3: If you only want the three months of membership, remember to cancel!

If like most people, you have abandoned all vestiges of motivation to lose weight before the end of 3 months, cancel the membership. If you do not, the plan will be renewed automatically, and you will be charged the monthly fee of £10.95. Weightwatchers will be relying on apathy and laziness to make money from the people who  forget or can’t be bothered to cancel. So write yourself a reminder in your diaries/calendars.

I of course, intend to lose all the weight I plan to within the three months (2 stones for your information) before the 3 months are up. Hurrah! Pete 1 Weightwatchers 0.
