July 2015 Update

June has now left us, and I’m sure I’m not the only one finding himself complaining about the heat. Still, I’m sure summer will be over before we know it and then we can get back to complaining about the cold. June has been a month where I’ve been forced to work much harder than I like to. It’s not that I’m afraid of a bit of hard work, but I don’t really appreciate the impact that this has on family time! It’s been quite difficult financially too. With five weekends in the month, we have five lots of shopping to pay for, far too expensive for my liking.

Let’s get down to the figures. At the end of June, my debt stood at £14,223.64. After my June payments, my total debt will be £13,961.24. Huzzah, I’ve made it under another milestone! This month I’ve paid off a total of £262.40, and I’m now under £14,000. It’s hard to believe that, especially given that at the point this blog started I owed just shy of £26,000! These small victories on the road to redemption are really important, and I can’t explain how excited I get when I know I’ve sliced another grand of debt off.

July is a very busy month indeedy. I have to go to Cardiff to participate in an assessment centre for my latest qualification. Then there is my MSc graduation, as well as a wedding and a holiday with friends to look forward to. Exciting times, but I will need to be very wary of how much I’m spending. I hope you are all enjoying debt related victories too…
